Britta Jaschinski Inspired Developments

Britta Jaschinski

Britta Jaschinski was inspired to photograph animals in captivity. Over 3 years she photographed animals in in zoos using grainy black and white photography, which captured the discomfort visitors often feel when they see wild animals in artificial spaces. Britta's raw pared-down imaged portray the unhappiness of captive animals and her concern about the loss of their natural habitats.
Below are examples of Britta's work;

Using old images which were taken on a trip to a zoo, I developed my images using Britta as inspiration. Please be aware this does not effect badly on the zoo which the photographs were taken, using Lightroom I developed the below photographs.
